Masters - The AS-i Master directs communication over the network.

Backplane - Direct connection to standard PLC platforms. Gateway - Interface between AS-i and higher level networks. Standalone - The AS-i master with an integrated PLC. Network extension - Extending the network beyond 100m
Power Supplies - Responsible for providing power to both input and output devices on the network.

AS-i - Combines power (inputs) and data for transmission over the network cable. 24 VDC - Provides power for output devices.
