Magnetic proximity switches with long sensing ranges.

Detection through non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminium, plastics, glass.
  • Small designs with long sensing ranges up to 70 mm.
  • High switching frequency of more than 5,000 Hz for fast processes.
  • All types can be used variably for both flush and non-flush installation.
  • Wide temperature range of -25...75 °C for demanding applications.
Demanding applications
Due to their operating principle, magnetic proximity switches can detect special targets (permanent magnets) through all non-magnetisable materials such as non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, aluminium, plastics and glass.

Long sensing range
Magnetic proximity switches operate similarly to inductive proximity switches. They detect damping magnets without contact. Due to this operating principle an extremely high sensing range can also be achieved with smaller types.

High switching frequency
The ifm sensors reach a switching frequency of more than 5,000 Hz. This high switching frequency applies to the whole temperature range.

Wide temperature range
The wide temperature range of -25 to 75 °C within which a safe function is guaranteed, enables the use of the units in areas with considerable temperature fluctuations.

Variable use
Magnetic proximity switches can be used variably. They can be mounted non flush and, in all non-magnetisable materials, also flush without reducing the sensing range.
