TAD Temperature Sensor Eliminates Regular Calibration Checks

ifm efector inc. announces the TAD Series self-verifying temperature sensors designed for sanitary process control applications.

• TAD Sensors provides continuous drift monitoring which eliminates regular calibration checks.

• When compared to a typical RTD/transmitter system that requires regular calibration checks, the TAD temperature sensor provides a significant savings over a five-year period. ifm backs up this claim with a 5-year warranty.

• The TAD's stainless steel sensing tip that contains two RTD sensing elements with opposite characteristics (positive temperature coefficient vs. negative temperature coefficient) to detect drift.

• The sensor provides a standard 4…20 mA analog signal of temperature and a switching output to indicate when a drift occurs.

• The drift warning and alarm levels are adjustable using the sensor’s configuration software. After the setpoints are established, the TAD continuously monitors temperature drift.

• The flexible mounting system insures sanitary connection for all common process adapters.

• The sensor’s 316 stainless steel housing is rated IP69K and tested to withstand high pressure cleanings.

• The TAD sensor meets 3A and EHEDG requirements and its materials meet FDA regulation 21 CFR.
